HMC511LP5E Description
The HMC511LP5E is a high-performance VCO manufactured by Analog Devices, Inc, operates at frequencies between 6.25 GHz to 9.75 GHz, with a tuning voltage range of 0 V to 16 V. It is designed for use in a wide range of applications, including commercial and military communication systems, test and measurement equipment, and radar systems.
This VCO features low phase noise, excellent output power levels, and a typical frequency stability of +/- 10 ppm over the operating temperature range. It requires a supply voltage of +5V, and consumes only 100 mA of current.
The HMC511LP5E is designed for a variety of applications such as cellular/3G, LTE, WiMAX, WiFi, satellite receivers, test instrumentation, and military radios. Its high dynamic range and low noise figure make it suitable for both receive and transmit functions in wireless communication systems. Additionally, the LNA features an enable/disable function controlled by applying a voltage to the EN pin, allowing for system-level power savings.

HMC511LP5E integrate resonators, negative resistance devices, varactor diodes and feature a half frequency output. The VCO’s phase noise performance is excellent over temperature, shock, and process due to the oscillator’s monolithic structure. Power output is +13 dBm typical from a +5V supply. The voltage controlled oscillator is packaged in a leadless QFN 5x5 mm surface mount package, and requires no external matching components.
