Description

The MCP23017-E/SO is a 16-bit I/O expander with serial interface (I2C) designed to provide additional I/O ports for microcontrollers with limited I/O pins.

Key Features:

  • 16-bit remote bidirectional I/O port
  • High-speed I2C interface (100 kHz, 400 kHz, 1.7 MHz)
  • Three hardware address pins for up to 8 devices on the bus
  • Open-drain interrupt output pin
  • Configurable interrupt source (per pin)
  • Low standby current: 1 µA (max)
  • Operating voltage range: 1.8V to 5.5V
  • Available in 28-lead SOIC package
