The TCA6424ARGJR is a low-voltage 24-bit I2C and SMBus I/O Expander that provides general-purpose remote I/O extension for most microcontroller families through the I2C interface (serial clock (SCL) and serial data (SDA). This device's main advantage is its broad VCC range. It can work on both the P-port and the SDA/SCL side. This enables the TCA6424A to communicate with next-generation microprocessors and microcontrollers on the SDA/SCL side, where supply levels are decreasing to save power. In contrast to the declining power supplies of microprocessors and microcontrollers, other PCB components, such as LEDs, continue to operate at 5V. TCA6424ARGJR
