Description
The TPS22810 is a single-channel load switch with a programmable rising time and an integrated rapid output discharge (QOD). Furthermore, the gadget includes thermal shutdown to safeguard it from excessive junction temperatures. As a result, the device's operating region is intrinsically safe.
The device has an N-channel MOSFET with an input voltage range of 2.7 V to 18 V. A maximum current of 2 A can be supported by the SOT23-5 (DBV) package. A maximum current of 3 A can be supported by the WSON (DRV) package. An on/off input controls the switch, which can interface directly with low-voltage control signals.  
The device's programmable rise time considerably minimizes inrush current induced by large bulk load capacitances, lowering or eliminating power supply droop. Undervoltage lock-out is used to turn off the device if the VIN voltage falls below a certain threshold, preventing downstream circuitry from being damaged by being supplied with a voltage lower than intended.
The device's fall time is controlled by the programmable QOD pin, allowing for design flexibility for power down.
The TPS22810 is offered in both a leaded, SOT-23 packaging (DBV) that enables for visual inspection of solder connections and a WSON package (DRV).
The gadget is designed to operate in the free-air temperature range of –40 C to +105 C.
